What prompted this note
The site has grown fast this season - town guides, a regional Catskills hub, a Hudson safety guide, new plans and notes. A fair question follows: what is next? This note is the public version of the working list, including the parts that are deliberately stuck. As with our field review queue, this is a plan, not a promise of dates.
In the pipeline
- Verification over new pages. The biggest gains now come from confirming what is already published: the summer 2026 field review queue (Athens, Dutchman's Landing, Four-Mile Point, Green Lake, the mountaintop lakes), rental confirmations at Rip Van Winkle and C.D. Lane, and turning "fees unknown" into cited facts wherever an official source exists.
- A Schoharie Reservoir planning upgrade - the current guide covers the permit system; firsthand accounts of the permit-and-cleaning process would let it walk through the steps concretely.
On hold, and why
- Kinderhook Lake (Columbia County) - public paddling there is reported but unconfirmed, and lakes in this region are often ringed by private property. We will not publish a guide until a specific, legal public put-in is confirmed - sending paddlers to a launch that may not exist is worse than no page.
- Moving-water notes (Batavia Kill, Schoharie Creek) - we do not publish moving-water route guidance from a desk. These wait for experienced local paddler input, or they wait forever.
- Private campground paddling - worth covering only with operator cooperation, since access depends entirely on them.
- More town pages (Cairo, Durham) - held back on purpose: without enough verified water near them, they would be thin pages that exist for search engines rather than paddlers, and that is against the house rules.
